I've spent the last couple of days doing a lot of blog reading, and trying to play catch up from my extended absence. This prompted a lot of head scratching, me going "HUH?" and "WHAT?", and a "OMG, that's a horrible blog..." Sheeesh... this is supposed to be a fun hobby. Why so much controversy and conflict?
I made the decision to use AD&D 1E when I start my sandbox campaign. I was contemplating house rules and decided that I wouldn't use ANY house rules for the first few sessions. I want to see how it plays out. It's been a while, but members of my potential gaming group have all played AD&D 1E.
Anyway, I'm headed to a wedding, and won't be able to post for a couple of days. Have a good weekend!

I won't read a negative blog. I may not play S&W or AD&D, but I respect those games and the people who play them. If I have a blog on my roll that rags on those systems, I'll drop the blog. If I want to deal with someone angry, I'll go to work. :)
ReplyDeleteThe way I look at it, any RPG is a good thing. A social, intelligent, imaginative, and most of the time, a fun activity. Beats being a t.v. zombie.
ReplyDeleteI don't think negativity helps the hobby in any way. Constructive criticism is okay, but some things I read were just bad. One blog I read ( which I will never link to, nor name ) was just hateful, and insulting. IF the blogger made any valid points it was lost all the profanity they used. This had to be the most vitriolic blog I ever read.
